Copper Cabling Accessories
This category covers the RJ45 connectivity hardware that terminates and interconnects balanced twisted-pair links: a CAT6 unshielded rack-mount patch panel and four grades of factory-terminated patch cord. CAT6 Patch Panel, Unshielded
The patch panel is the central termination point that keeps a structured cabling installation organized, labeled and easy to service. Heizka lists two configurations: HEAP60U124, a 24-port unshielded CAT6 panel in 1U, and HEAP60U248, a 48-port unshielded CAT6 panel in 2U. Both use a black steel frame with powder coating, 19-inch single-bar rack mounting, a flame-retardant and impact-resistant thermoplastic port module, and IDC phosphor bronze termination with 50µm gold-plated RJ45 pins.
Ports use a snap-in design and support both T568A and T568B wiring schemes, so the panel drops into either convention without special ordering. The panels comply with ANSI/TIA 568-C.2 and ISO/IEC 11801 Class E, include an integrated rear cable manager and a clear front label strip, and ship fully assembled ready to install.

All four grades share the same core construction: HDPE insulation, RJ45 plugs with 50µm gold plating and a staggered pin design, a strain-relief protection boot on both ends, a plug insertion life of at least 1000 cycles and an operating temperature range of -20 to 70°C. The CAT6, CAT6A and CAT7A cords use a snagless strain-relief boot. Published cord diameter for the CAT6 cord is 3.8 ± 0.2 mm.
Standard lengths are 1m, 2m, 3m, 4m and 5m, with custom lengths available under an X code. Colors are blue, gray, black, orange, purple and white. Jacket options are CRM, CM, LSZH and PVC. Compliance covers ISO/IEC 11801:2008, ANSI/TIA-568-C2 and IEC 61156-5, with IEC 60603-7, EN 50173 and IEC 60332-1 also cited on the CAT6, CAT6A and CAT7A cords. The CAT6, CAT6A and CAT7A cords list Power over Ethernet support under IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at and 802.3bt, with the CAT6 cord specified for Types 1 to 4 up to 90W.
Reading the Part Number
Patch cord part numbers follow a seven-field structure — brand, category, type, structure, color, jacket and length. HEAC5EU1CM2 is a CAT5E cord in U/UTP structure, blue, CM jacket, 2m. HEAC5EF1CM2 is the same cord in F/UTP, and HEAC5ES1CM2 in S/FTP. The same pattern applies across the range, so HEAC6AS1CM2 is a CAT6A S/FTP cord, blue, CM jacket, 2m. Building the code field by field means a bill of materials can be generated directly from the design.
Choosing Structure and Jacket
The three screening structures address different noise environments. U/UTP relies on pair twist alone and is adequate in typical office spaces. F/UTP adds an overall foil that shields the whole bundle from external electric-field noise. S/FTP adds a foil around each pair plus an overall braid, which addresses pair-to-pair coupling inside the cord as well as external interference, and is the structure to specify in industrial areas or dense high-speed patch fields. Screening only works when it is continuous, so a screened cord needs screened hardware to carry the shield path through.
Jacket selection is driven by code, not preference. LSZH is specified where smoke toxicity and opacity matter in occupied or enclosed spaces; CM and CMR-class ratings are set by the building space the cord occupies. Since cords sit in the same rooms and pathways as the permanent link, apply the same rule to both.

Are the patch panels shielded?

Why are patch cords stranded rather than solid?
Stranded conductors flex repeatedly without fracturing, which is what a cord in a patch field or under a desk has to do. Solid conductors belong in the permanent link, where the cable is installed once and terminated on IDC contacts.
Can I order lengths other than 1 to 5 meters?
Yes. Custom lengths are supported through the X field in the part number. Specify the required length when you request a quote.
Does the CAT6 cord support PoE?
Yes. It lists IEEE 802.3af / 802.3at / 802.3bt support, Types 1 to 4, up to 90W.
